Micro Wave hot mitts pattern

I have been busy making hot mitts for all my friends, they only take minutes to make. Make a pattern according to photo, measurements are 10" by 5 1/2" for main mitt and 4" by 5 1/2" for finger pockets. All you need is heat resistant fabric, cotton fabric and  light batting. Cut one main mitt from cotton, batting and heat resistant fabric, set aside. Cut 4 cotton, 2 batting for each finger pocket. Serge the straight side of finger pocket and place one on each end of main mitt, serge the entire mitt being sure to catch all layers. You're done, just that easy. Make great little favors at cooking parties, stocking stuffers, or just because gifts. I make them in sets of two. Thanks for looking and stop by again. Have a great day sewing!

Keepsake Teddy Bears

Good morning, today I want to share a special sewing project with you.  These adorable teddy bears are very special to me and this is why. The red plaid is made from my grandfathers flannel shirt and the blue is from my grandmothers chenille bath robe. They sit on my dresser near a picture of the wonderful couple. I cut out all the pieces and sew them together, stuff with fiber fill and string the arms and legs on with embroidery floss and the buttons from the shirt with a long doll needle. The eyes are buttons from the shirt also. The nose is satin stitch embroidery. I always tie a ribbon around the neck and my signature mark on all dolls and teddy bears I make is a silk rose sewn near the ear of bears and a rose stamped on the back shoulder of my dolls. Can be made from any garment, I just prefer flannel shirts and chenille bath robes.
They are always near and dear to me as I see them first thing every morning. Thanks for stopping by. See you again soon.

My Art

Today I would like to share some of my art with you. I started doing pencil sketch in  when I was in Junior high school. Pencil sketch ahs always been my favorit form of art. I think the reason is it is so easy to fix a goof, and I make plenty ( though I hate to admit).
Today I am sharing a few pencil sketches along woth some paintings, oil and acrylic.
I have been commissioned to do some paintings such as this painting of farm pigs on an old barn board, and the mural of a couple doing ball room dancing. the pigs were done in oil and the mural was done in acrylics. Also there is a picture of a woman holding a glass of wine that was done in acrylic. This one was done to be frameless and matches the colors in the room, it measures approximately 29" by 34". Also are two pencil sketches of women, I like to do my pencil sketches on newsprint as it is not as stark as white sketch paper. Lastly one of my favorites is the picture of an eagles head that I painted in oil paints on a real dried Sycamore leaf. Wild life is one of my favorite things and I have done a lot of them on leaves. It if difficult to paint on leaves, one has to be very careful, nothing worse than being almost finished with a piece and having it break. That has happened to me on accassion :(

Let me know your interest in art and your techniques, I would love to hear from you all.
